Andie Newcomer, CMP

Director of Events
aka Orchestrator of Occasions

Andie oversees the Experience Grand Rapids Events Department and orchestrates all the details for our FAM trips, tradeshows, sales mission trips, client events and sponsorship fulfillment opportunities we employ to show off Grand Rapids to potential clients. Starting here as an intern working on golf packages, she’s progressed through various client-facing positions to her current position.  

Her favorite part of the job is planning FAM trips that bring potential future customers to the city. She enjoys surprising first-time visitors with the incredible benefits of Grand Rapids as a convention destination – including how walkable, clean and friendly it is.

Bio Bits:

  • Can’t get enough of Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park – especially the view from the top of the Japanese Garden.
  • Recommends sharing small plates at San Chez Bistro and the White Chocolate Blonde beer (“tastes like a s’more!”) at Grand Armory Brewing
  • Looks forward to the whitewater restoration that will make downtown’s Grand River a major recreational hub.

An avid golfer, scuba diver and scrapbooker, Andie also loves to travel with family and friends. Favorite spots include Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and the Caribbean island of Bonaire.
